Slice of Cake - March 2019

Spring Fever

Fabulous (smiley face:), winter is nearly over, or those worst 2 months of the year. It’s the inbetween season when we don’t really know what to wear. Rule of thumb..Keep your vest on.

What's new in the shop........Lots of lovely earrings from at least 6 different wholesalers. Colours and styles galore. From only £10. That should perk up your outfit.  The new seasons Envy jewellery has arrived with a few scarves but shopping for more this weekend.  It’s strange putting away everything winter when it’s still a bit nippy. I have these reversible wraps and some glittery and star ponchos in summery colours. I have put lots of these items on the new website shop. As you know I only buy a few so grab them whilst I have them.

A big hit is the sparkly lanyards for those who have to have them for work. Only £10.  I have also purchased a few pieces from an artisan Lauren Taylor who spins her own cotton to make the most amazing necklaces.

Word on the Saints

Wendy from Maud’s Attic is using the little shop that used to be the IceScream shop and now the Harry Potter shop for a pop up sale shop for all things new but last season. I will include some from Cake & Catwalk. We will be giving a proportion of our sales to The Animal Rescue charity.  Wendy will make this a regular event for different charities.  There will be lots of amazing bargains.  I will be facebooking and instagramming on all this.

Our lovely wool shop Jenny Wren is closing, we are really sad to lose her. I have heard a rumour about someone else coming in but it’s not confirmed yet so keeping mum about that.

There is a new studio opening up called Pom Pom which is just up the ally by The Thomas Wolsey. She makes amazing things and will be running workshops. I am not sure exactly when and what but its looks imminent. Will keep you posted.

Danielle Hopkins has opened up the other half of her Stained Glass Window shop on Stoke Bridge for workshops and is holding lots of craft events and workshops for everyone to participate. www.stokebridgeworkshops.co.uk
